Nurturing Growth

Our signature and longest running program, Midawarr, is a complete cultural immersion, with participants travelling to NE Arnhem Land for a unique Yolŋu experience. Conducted in partnership with remote communities on traditional land, Midawarr participants are taken on a journey that provides first-hand knowledge of what it’s like to connect to Country and see the world through the eyes & hearts of Yolŋu.

There is no greater experience than taking time to sit, be, listen and connect with Yolŋu on Country.

Program Features:

  • Cultural immersion that involves living and camping with Yolŋu on traditional lands
  • 6-10 days (customisable length)
  • Can be facilitated for groups from 15 – 200+ people
  • Facilitated on-site at various Yolŋu Homelands and Gulkula (Garma Festival site)

STAFFING

Program Leaders will all have the required qualifications and will meet Australian Adventure Activity Standards (AAS). All drivers involved in transportation will hold relevant mini bus license or coach licenses and adhere to strict protocols for student transportation safety.

EACH SCHOOL GROUP WILL BE ASSISTED BY A CULTURAL COLLEGE GROUP LEADER  AND SUPPORTED BY LOCAL STAFF, ABORIGINAL EDUCATORS, AND LOCAL FAMILIES.
